2019 Fiji Hobie Challenge
The event will run from 7th to 18th August.
The Oceania Championship (around the course/buoy racing) will also be sailed during this period and in between the Challenge expedition racing legs.
Most of the rates are the same as last year … for Boat Charter and Entry Fees.
There will be about 20 boats available on the usual basis of first in à best boats and last years’ sailors can retain their preferred boats. Entries are confirmed only with the abovementioned fees paid IN FULL beforehand.
11 Nights at off-shore resorts should be planned for in terms of food and accommodation. This does not include accommodation on the mainland/Nadi before the regatta (in case you arrive early), nor for the last day of racing and Prizegiving Night, which will be in the Nadi vicinity.
Smugglers Cove is the Nadi vicinity and on the beach – their rates will be provided shortly.
Offshore, we will be staying in 3 resorts: Beachcomber Island Resort, Barefoot Kuata Resort and Barefoot Manta Resort.
Beachcomber is an old favourite and well situated on the way out to the island groups and also on the way home.
Barefoot Kuata is quite a small resort but they promise to have an additional 2 dormitory rooms to cater for another 6 beds per room if we fill up the available accommodation this coming month!! There is also another small resort nearby that would be able to cater for a few people, but they do not have hot water showers!
Therefore, there will already be a race to be accommodated at Barefoot Kuata!!
After Barefoot Kuata, we will be at Barefoot Manta … to be all the closer to the MANTA RAYS!!! This is the resort adjacent to the Manta Rays we all enjoyed snorkelling with 2 years ago!!!
