After the comment period and vote by the IHCA Council the following rule changes have been approved.
The Hobie Tiger South African Championships 2017 concluded after 4 days of intense sailing on the beautiful waters of Langebaan Lagoon. Know by many Hobie sailors around the world for past world events such as the Hobie 16 Worlds in 1991 and the Tiger Worlds in 2008.
2017 Fiji Hobie Challenge & Oceania will start and finish at Mana Island. Mana Island is 32km West of Nadi and is situated on a 300 acre lush tropical paradise, amongst white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Mana and Island X are top notch, Island X is 5 star.

This world-class bronze statue commemorating a life-sized Hobie Alter sailing his Hobie 14 catamaran in the waves of Dana Point. At the European Hobie Class Association AGM, retiring International Hobie Class Association Rules Chairman Erik Olsen was presented an award for his years of service to the Hobie class. Erik has been the chairman of the IHCA Rules Committee for over 15 years. Last year the IHCA Council awarded Erik Life Membership of the IHCA.
As the outcome of the comment period revealed possible loop-holes, the IHCA Rules Committee has decided to withdraw the rule proposal dated and posted January 10, 2017.
