The 2nd series in the Australian Hobie Championships was the Hobie Wild Cat, Hobie16 Women and Youth. The New Year started with a bang. With the wind gusting to 30 knots, the start was delayed until later in the afternoon, with the wind abating the race committee decided just to run the Hobie 14s. Some of the 14s enjoyed the conditions until the wind increased again.
The second day brought some ideal conditions with four races. With moderate conditions, the sailors enjoyed their four races after the day before strong breezes.
Day 3 brought lighter winds, while the wind tried to increase and went up and down in pressure the wind remained directionally quite consistent.
Day 4 and the final day, what a day to finish the 51st Australian Hobie Championships. The wind turned it on, a steady direction but the showers on the east of Moreton Bay caused the wind to increase to 23knots. The wind abated with 4 races between 15-22 knots were held.
