St Aubin’s Bay is expected to be awash with colour when the 31st Channel Islands Hobie Cat Championships return on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August.
Hosted and organised by the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club (RCIYC), around 30 boats from Jersey, Guernsey, and the UK are expected to take to the water for a full weekend of competitive racing.
The event is open to all Hobie classes, from junior crews on Dragoons through to youth and adult teams racing Hobie 16’s and the powerful Hobie 18 Wildcats.
There will be six qualifying races over the weekend to find the champions of the various categories, with races starting at 10am on Saturday and 11am on Sunday.
Good public vantage points to view the action are along the Esplanade, anywhere from First Tower to the Gunsite.
Local estate agents Savills, one of the world’s largest real estate firms with 700 offices around the globe, are once again sponsoring the championships.
